Soffia half-sister set for Osarus La Teste Yearling Sale

A half-sister to the rapidly improving sprinter Soffia is among the eye-catching entries for the Osarus La Teste Yearling Sale, which is scheduled to take place on September 3 and 4 at Hippodrome du Béquet in La Teste-de-Buch, close to Bordeaux. A total of 277 yearlings have been catalogued for the two-day event.
Haras de Montaigu will offer eight lots at the sale, among which is the Myboycharlie sibling to Soffia (lot 270), who won the Group 2 Friarstown Stud Sapphire Stakes by clear water at the Curragh on Sunday.
Other vendors boasting strong representation include Haras des Faunes (20 lots), Charles Briere's Fairway Consignment (19), Haras de l'Hotellerie (17), as well as Haras de Grandcamp, Haras de la Haie Neuve and Haras de Saint Vincent, who will offer 13 lots each.
There is ample sire-power among the lots on offer, with French names such as Le Havre, Kendargent, Anodin, Dabirsim and Wootton Bassett joined by the likes of Acclamation, Bated Breath, Camelot, Gleneagles, Oasis Dream, Showcasing and Sir Percy.
Among the first-crop sires with progeny on offer are: Bobby’s Kitten, Buratino, Charming Thought, Dariyan, Mehmas, Scissor Kick, Shalaa, Territories, The Gurkha, Twilight Son and Vadamos.
The La Teste Yearling Sale, source of Group/Grade 1 winners such as Sands Of Mali and Fatale Bere, has already supplied 18 winning two-year-olds in 2019, including the promising Longchamp scorer Helter Skelter, who was last seen finishing runner-up to Godolphin's Well Of Wisdom in the Listed Prix Roland de Chambure.
