Galiway fee more than doubled as Haras de Colleville unveils 2022 fees

With Sealiway's gritty Champion Stakes victory at Ascot last month no doubt part of the considerations, Haras de Colleville has raised Galiway's fee to €30,000 from €12,000 for the upcoming 2022 breeding season.

The son of Galileo is responsible for seven individual black-type winners, including Group winners Sealiway, Esope and Kenway, while Sealiway won last year's Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere to become his sire's first top-level winner.

Galiway, a leading third-crop sire, was also the busiest stallion in France this term with a book of 169 mares. His fee has increased tenfold since his initial fee of €3,000 in 2016.

Kendargent was represented by his first Group 1 winner in Prix d'Ispahan and Bayerisches Zuchtrennen scorer Skalleti, and the 18-year-old will stand for an increased fee of €17,000, up from €10,000.

The evergreen stallion has sired 14 individual Group winners and 19 Listed winners from 64 stakes performers overall, including this season's Prix Kergorlay and Prix Vicomtesse Vigier victor Skazino, Derby Italiano winner Tokyo Gold and stud mate Goken.

Goken, whose stud record includes Group 3 winner Go Athletico and Listed scorers Miss Louna and O Trasno, will remain at his 2021 fee of €15,000. He has sired six black-type performers from his first two crops.

New recruit Soft Light, a stakes-winning and Group-placed Authorized half-brother to two-time Group 3 winner and Diamond Jubilee Stakes runner-up City Light, has been introduced at a fee of €5,000.

The five-year-old, who is from the family of top-class hurdler De Bon Cœur and three other black-type jumpers in French Crusader, Gai Luron and Saint Rajh, will be supported by a partnership between Guy Pariente and Claudio Marzocco.
