Former Rathbarry Stud stallion Ajaya supplied his first winner with his very first runner when the Archie Watson-trained Igotatext made a winning debut in division two of the Betsafe Best Odds Guaranteed Maiden Auction Stakes at Lingfield on Friday.

The early-February born colt showed plenty of dash from the gates to track the pace before sticking on resolutely to prevail by a length and a quarter from the Coach House gelding Lothian.

Bred by Peter and Hugh McCutcheon, Igotatext is the second foal out Tifawt, a once-raced daughter of High Chaparral who in turn is out of a half-sister to Group 1-winning sprinter Kingsgate Native.

Igotatext was signed for by Blandford Bloodstock at €10,000 at part two of the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale.

The colt is one of 31 foals from Ajaya's debut crop, which was conceived at a fee of €10,000.
Bred and raced by Saleh Al Homaizi and Imad Al Sagar, the son of Invincible Spirit was a high-class two-year-old, beating Ribchester to land the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes and also finishing runner-up to Gutaifan in the Prix Robert Papin.

He retired to stand at Rathbarry Stud for the 2017 season but proved to be sub-fertile.

Ajaya's success continued a hot run of form for this year's first-season sires, with Adaay, Mehmas, Prince Of Lir, Shalaa and Twilight Son also getting off the mark in the last seven days.
