A year after declaring Fasig-Tipton's Saratoga Select Yearling Sale to be her favorite auction worldwide and two years after spending nearly $4 million for six yearlings on behalf of Phoenix Thoroughbreds, Kerri Radcliffe jumped back into the spotlight on Monday with a $900,000 filly by Medaglia D'Oro.

With her current primary client, financier George Bolton, by her side along with Sheila Rosenblum of Lady Sheila Stable, Radcliffe said the filly out of Grade 1-placed Light The City, by Street Sense, would be raced by the partnership in America.

She indicated she did not want to answer many questions about the purchase, but Bolton pushed her forward.

"We'd a slogan if we got the filly: 'Hot women buy fast horses,'" Bolton quipped of the ownership group.

"I'm holding on for dear life," he added of his role. "This was Kerri's pick of the whole sale. She was the type of athlete she loves to buy, so we could either get more partners to help pay or lose the horse."

Bred by the Breeze Easy LLC - which purchased Light The City for $600,000 at the 2016 Fasig-Tipton November Sale while she was carrying her initial foal, an American Pharoah filly now named First Grade Girl - the Medaglia D'Oro filly was consigned by Eaton Sales.

"She looks like an athlete, she's by a great sire - I loved her," exclaimed Radcliffe. "She's got a beautiful head, she's just gorgeous - she's very quality."

Last year Radcliffe signed two tickets at the Saratoga Select Sale and while she said at the time that she was not shopping for Bolton, both of those horses have wound up running for him and partners. A $500,000 More Than Ready colt named Tomato Bill won his debut at Delaware Park and finished second in the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes at Saratoga Race Course on July 13.

Tomato Bill is listed by America's Equibase data system as owned by Bolton with Three Chimneys Farm, Lady Sheila Stable, Barry Lipman and David Lipman.

The other 2018 Saratoga purchase by Radcliffe, a $185,000 Constitution filly named Aurelia Garland in honor of Bolton's mother Aurelia and trained by Wesley Ward, won a maiden race at Belmont Park in May. That filly is listed as owned solely by Bolton.

Those are just two of the horses Radcliffe has bought around the world, from America to Australia and across Europe, for Bolton and partners.

She helped acquire an A$1.2m (£667,800/€727,500) Snitzel colt at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale in 2018, saying at the time that Bolton had supported her after her split from Phoenix. That colt, named Dresden Green, has won one of four starts to date for trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

Dresden Green is listed as owned by Bolton with partners including Arrowfield, Glenlogan Park and China-based Rifa Mustang.

At other sales in Europe and Australia, Radcliffe has spent close to $3m on behalf of Bolton and partners over the past few seasons with acquisitions including a No Nay Never filly now named I Never Say No at the 2018 Tattersalls October Book 1 Yearling Sale.

That filly was bought for Bolton and Rosenblum for 650,000gns.

East Coast Swing, an Exchange Rate filly, was purchased by Radcliffe for Bolton and a partner at the 2018 Arqana Breeze-Up Sale for €450,000. To date, she is unplaced in two starts in England for trainer George Scott.

At this year's Arqana Breeze-Up Sale, Radcliffe signed the ticket for Bombshell, a filly by No Nay Never who is a half-sister to the Group 1-placed Jash. Radcliffe said at the sale that the filly would race for Bolton and one of his partners in European champion Lady Aurelia, Peter Leidel, and that she would be trained by Joseph O'Brien.

Bolton became involved in racing in 1989 through his friendship with Bill Farish of Lane's End. Horses he has been involved with through ownership include Curlin and The Factor in addition to Lady Aurelia.
