Invincible Spirit fee holds steady as roster reflects market sentiment
The stud's linchpin sire will remain on a fee of €120,000
Having added three new Group 1 winners to his progeny record during the latest campaign, Invincible Spirit again tops the stallion roster at the Irish National Stud, with the son of Green Desert due to stand his fourth consecutive covering season at €120,000 in 2019.
Invincible Spirit has been represented by Commonwealth Cup winner Eqtidaar, Vertem Futurity Trophy Stakes scorer Magna Grecia and Criterium International victor Royal Meeting in 2018, which takes his tally of top-flight winners to 18.
"Invincible Spirit once again proved he is the king of speed with three individual Group 1 winners among 19 stakes winners in 2018," the stud's chief executive Cathal Beale said. "His fee will remain unchanged at €120,000. Alongside our flag bearer, our high-quality roster will be available at exceptional value. We have listened to breeders and our fees reflect the current market sentiment."
Five of the seven stallions on the Irish National Stud's roster have seen their fee trimmed for 2019, with Free Eagle, whose first runners hit the track next year, down to €12,500, while Decorated Knight and National Defense are down to €12,000 and €8,000 respectively for their second seasons on covering duty.
Dragon Pulse has also had his fee clipped into €6,000, while freshman sire Gale Force Ten will be available for €3,000 during the year his first three-year-olds appear on the racecourse.
The roster is completed by Elusive Pimpernel, who remains unchanged at €1,000.
