First-season sire Pastorius to relocate to Haras de la Hetraie

First-season sire Pastorius is to relocate to Haras de la Hetraie in France after four seasons at Gestut Fahrhof, becoming the latest in a series of high-profile additions to the French stallion ranks.

The son of Soldier Hollow has had his first two-year-olds hit the track this year, among them Lord Leoso, who got Pastorius off the mark as a sire by winning at Cologne in September.

Trained by Mario Hofer, Pastorius showed plenty of promise as a juvenile to win a mile Group 3, before scoring twice at the highest level as a three-year-old with victories in the Deutsches Derby at Hamburg and the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis at Munich.

Pastorius followed up his Classic campaign with a win in the Prix Ganay at Longchamp at four and was retired in 2014 to Fahrhof, where he was offered to breeders at a fee of €6,500.

Pastorius will join fellow freshman George Vancouver on the roster at Hetraie, and a fee will be announced at a later date.
