Not for the first time, the progeny of Dubawi were the hottest ticket in town in Deauville as the August Sale was topped by the filly out of Typique consigned by Haras d'Etreham, with Charlie Gordon-Watson going to €2.4 million on behalf of an undisclosed client.

That transaction means Dubawi is responsible for the three most expensive yearlings ever sold in the Arqana ring, although this year's top lot is only the third priciest behind the €2.6 million Parabellum, bought for Godolphin by John Ferguson in 2015, and last year's Select Sale top lot, the half-sister to Sottsass who went the way of Oliver St Lawrence at €2.5m.

Nonetheless, the filly, who was bred by Thierry Gillier's Haras Voltaire, helped propel Dubawi to the head of the August Sale sires' table with an average of €860,000 for six lots sold.
