Entries unveiled for the Tattersalls July Sale
Dams of Fairyland and Ten Sovereigns were sourced in previous years
A total of 904 lots have been catalogued for next month's Tattersalls July Sale, comprising 814 horses and fillies in and out of training and 90 broodmares, seven of which have foals at foot.
Taking place on July 10-12, the three-day sale features high-class consignments from many leading owner-breeders including Cheveley Park Stud, Godolphin, Hascombe and Valiant Stud, Juddmonte Farms, Moyglare Stud Farm, Newsells Park Stud and Shadwell Estates.
Billed as Europe's premier midsummer sale, the Tattersalls July Sale has produced the dams of an impressive 12 individual Group 1 winners since 2016 including Fairyland and Ten Sovereigns, whose dams were purchased for 32,000gns and 65,000gns respectively.
Queenofthefairies, dam of the Cheveley Park Stakes winner Fairyland, was purchased at the 2010 renewal by Tally-Ho Stud months after it had sold the mare's half-brother Dream Ahead at the breeze-up sales, with the son of Diktat going on to claim five of the major sprint prizes in Europe including the July Cup.
Godolphin, Juddmonte Farms and Shadwell Estates have more than 150 lots catalogued between them, while the 90 broodmares include mares in foal to proven Group 1 sires such as Fastnet Rock, Kodiac, Showcasing and Teofilo.
Young sires are equally well represented with mares in foal to exciting Group 1 winners like Cracksman, Expert Eye, Ribchester and Saxon Warrior.
Eye-catching lots among the broodmares include the Godolphin-consigned Doors To Manual, already the dam of multiple Group 2 winner Safety Check and offered in foal to Saxon Warrior; the well-related five-year-old winning Motivator mare Mouille Point, offered by the Castlebridge Consignment in foal to Kodiac; and Crimbourne Bloodstock's Listed-placed mare Syann, who is pregnant to Showcasing.
Among the horses in training on offer are the supremely consistent Jim Bolger-trained Twilight Payment, recent winner of the Listed Levmoss Stakes at Leopardstown, and the Listed-winning three-year-olds Barys and Inverleigh, who are trained by Archie Watson and Ger Lyons respectively.
Tattersalls chairman Edmond Mahony said: "Quality and diversity are the hallmarks of the Tattersalls July Sale which has long been established as Europe's premier midsummer sale and this year's catalogue holds plenty of appeal for buyers from throughout the world, whatever their requirements.
"Recent renewals of the July Sale have produced the dams of outstanding 2018 Group 1-winning two-year-olds Fairyland and Ten Sovereigns, and alongside very well-bred fillies and mares, the catalogue also offers enormous choice for buyers looking for horses in training."
