Crystal Ocean pitched at €8,000 as Coolmore issue National Hunt fees for 2020

Crystal Ocean – joint leader of the Longines World's Best Racehorse Rankings published in October, along with Enable and Waldgeist – will stand at a fee of €8,000 as he commences his career as a jumps stallion at The Beeches Stud next year.

The son of Sea The Stars won eight of his 17 starts for Sir Michael Stoute, including this year's Prince of Wales's Stakes from Magical and Waldgeist, and he also finished a close second to Enable in the King George and behind Japan in the Juddmonte International.

Crystal Ocean is one of three newcomers on the Coolmore National Hunt roster for 2020.

Capri, a son of Galileo who won the Irish Derby and took the scalp of Crystal Ocean when successful in a vintage St Leger, is introduced at Grange Stud at a fee of €5,000, while Maxios, a son of Monsun who supplied this year's German Oaks heroine Diamanta, joins the roster at Castlehyde Stud with his price set at €6,000.

The most expensive Coolmore National Hunt stallion is reigning champion Flemensfirth, who is set to stand his 23rd consecutive season at The Beeches Stud at €15,000, the same fee he has commanded since 2018.

Two residents of Grange Stud have received fee increases for 2020: Getaway, source of celebrities Talkischeap and Verdana Blue as well as this month's £450,000 Cheltenham purchase Gallyhill, goes to €9,000 from €7,500, while Milan, whose roll of honour is headed by If The Cap Fits, Jezki and One For Arthur, has risen to €10,000 from €8,000.

Beeches Stud-based Soldier Of Fortune and Castlehyde tenant Order Of St George, the busiest sires in Britain and Ireland of 2019 with 275 mares each, have had their fees held at €8,000 and €6,500.
