Churchill colt Queroyal lands Baden-Baden Derby-Trial
Churchill's first crop continue to gather pace as Queroyal handed the Coolmore Stud resident a second Group victory of his stallion career in the Group 3 Derby-Trial at Baden-Baden.
The Guineas winner and champion juvenile now has five offspring to have hit the mark at stakes level with Vadeni taking the Group 3 Prix de Guiche at Chantilly in the middle of May.
Queroyal is a homebred for Gestut Paschberg out of the Areion mare Queenie, also a Group 3 winner for the same stud who has also produced Listed scorer Quebueno.
The colt was switched to Andreas Wohler's stable this year and has been on an upward curve since taking a recent conditions event at Mulheim.
He had to be driven out by Eduardo Pedroza but responded well to beat Lope De Vega colt Magical Beat by a length.
The fillies' Listed Diana-Trial went to Gestut Rottgen homebred Wild Gloria, a daughter of Olympic Glory from the stud's fine Wild Coco family.
