Repeated viewing of the Savills Chase at Leopardstown last week has yet to dull the excitement of the finish. Knowing the outcome only makes it even more fascinating.

Watching Galvin's bright bay head, and Davy Russell in the unmistakable scarlet cap of Ronnie Bartlett's silks, moving so serenely through the race, it's easy to pick up on the minor details that were missed in the thrill of the live event that illuminate the power and courage of the winner.

The now eight-year-old son of Gold Well was switched to the outside rounding the home turn and was still a couple of lengths down on the pair in front of him, the previous two winners of the track's festive highlight in A Plus Tard and Kemboy, with 150 yards to go.
