£100,000 Tattersalls Ascot Breeze-Up Bonus extended to 2020 renewal of the sale
News come on verge of this year's Ascot Yearling Sale on Tuesday
Tattersalls Ascot have announced the £100,000 Ascot Breeze-Up Bonus for two-year-old graduates that go on to win at Royal Ascot will continue in the same format for the 2020 renewal of the sale.
The £100,000 bonus will be open to two-year-old graduates of the Ascot Breeze-Up Sale, with an 80/20 split between the owner of the Royal Ascot two-year-old winner and the vendor of the horse offered at the sale.
The bonus has proved to be a realistic incentive and saw four graduates take their chances in juvenile races at Royal Ascot this year, in Flaming Princess, Lorelei Rock, Ropey Guest and Summer Sands, who have all subsequently won or been placed in black type races.
The £100,000 bonus not only caught the attention of owners at the Ascot Breeze-Up Sale but also that of breeze-up consignors buying at the Ascot Yearling Sale.
Some notable pinhook successes include Flaming Princess - winner on debut for the Cool Silk Partnership and winner last month of the Listed Prix Cavalassur at Deauville - who was purchased for £20,000 at last year's Ascot Yearling Sale and resold at this year's Breeze-Up Sale for £60,000 by Danny Benson's Dunsany Stables.
This year's Ascot Yearling Sale takes place this Tuesday from 11am.
