Picture special: studs welcome new arrivals by El Kabeir and Mondialiste
White overo stallion Silvery Moon also with his first offspring
Yeomanstown Stud has welcomed the first foal by its Scat Daddy stallion El Kabeir.
The new arrival - a colt - is the first produce of juvenile winner and Group 3-placed Shes Ranger and hails from the further family of Glatisant - dam of Footstepsinthesand - as well as Enticing, One Master and Lael Stables stalwart Superstar Leo.
The seven-year-old , who is standing at Yeomanstown Stud for a fee of €8,000 fee, landed the Grade 2 Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes at two and added a further two Graded wins at three.
Elwick Stud also reported the arrival of Mondialiste's first foal - a filly out of German Listed-winning mare Novita.
Mondialiste, a dual Grade 1-winning son of Galileo, is standing at the County Durham operation at a £6,000 fee this season.
From the immediate family of Intello, Mondialiste boasts an exceptional pedigree with his dam Occupandiste a champion mare and multiple stakes producer.
Mondialiste won the Arlington Million and Woodbine Mile, with his other standout performances when second to Tepin in the Breeders' Cup Mile.
Breeders Justin Browne and Peter Nolan are thrilled with their arrival and said: "She's a cracker! We're delighted with how she looks and she'll hopefully become a great filly in Mondialiste's first crop.
"We've two more mares here in foal to Mondialiste and are really looking forward to seeing how they turn out too. We'll be returning to him again this year. He's all the credentials of a proper stallion with an incredible pedigree. We hope to see his progeny carry that on."
Geoff Turnbull of Elwick Stud added: "To have Mondialiste's first foal on the ground is fantastic and I can't wait to see her when she travels over from Ireland when the mare is covered by him again.
"We've a wide variety of mares expecting to him here at Elwick Stud and we're looking forward to seeing what sort of stamp he puts on his foals."
Silvery Moon filly draws plenty of admirers
Last Friday marked the arrival of the first foal for Silvery Moon - a white overo stallion residing at Marbach State Stud in Germany.
The six-year-old Silvery Moon was picked up by his trainer Mario Hofer for €12,000 as a yearling at Arqana in 2012, and was raced by his handler together with Cologne Racing Club president Eckhard Sauren and Franz, Prince of Auersperg.
Trained by Hofer, Silvery Moon won five races from 48 starts, and even has his own Facebook page with over 12,000 fans.
Bred by Mette Campbell-Andenaes, he is a son of brown overo stallion I Was Framed and the bay Alzao mare Artzola.
Silvery Moon's paternal grandsire Racey Remarque was a US stallion with similarly unusual markings, and he in turn is a grandson of influential US sire Halo.
The filly has been aptly named Colory Moon.
