Stutteri Hjortebo in Denmark has announced that it is leasing Moohaajim for its stallion roster this year.

The nine-year-old son of Cape Cross, who has stood at Rathbarry Stud in County Cork since his retirement from racing in 2014, is moving as part of a Danish/Swedish enterprise led by Swedish-based trainers Jessica and Padraig Long.

A 200,000gns Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale graduate, Moohaajim was a top-class two-year-old for Marco Botti, winning an Ascot maiden and the Mill Reef Stakes as well as finishing a neck second in the Middle Park Stakes.

At three he was a close third to Olympic Glory in the Greenham Stakes before running down the field in Dawn Approach's 2,000 Guineas, which turned out to be his final start.

Moohaajim's first two-year-olds raced last year and from limited chances he has supplied six winners including Moojim, a neck second in the Weatherbys Super Sprint, and Hard Taskmaster, who has notched four victories.

Moohaajim will stand at Hjortebo alongside Scandinavian champion Appel Au Maitre and Footstepsinthesand's Group 2-winning son Giant Sandman.
