Kingman's unraced half-brother Delphian to stand in Pakistan

Delphian, the three-year-old half-brother to sophomore sire sensation Kingman, has been acquired as a stallion by Abdul Qadir Khan Mamdot's Qadirabad Stud in Pakistan.

The deal to purchase the son of Frankel, who was unraced due to “a few minor issues” according to a statement, was brokered by Oliver St Lawrence Bloodstock.

“I'm very excited to have bought Delphian, who is by world champion and successful young sire Frankel,” said Mamdot.

“He's a very good-looking, correct individual who has an amazingly deep Juddmonte pedigree that has consistently produced successful stallions.”

Delphian and Kingman are out of Poule d'Essai des Pouliches heroine Zenda, a half-sister to Oasis Dream, the source of 17 Group/Grade 1 winners during an admirable stallion career at Banstead Manor Stud.

This is the rich Juddmonte family that has yielded other high-class runners turned sires such as Beat Hollow, Martaline and New Bay.

Kingman himself has made a spectacular start to his stallion career, with 15 stakes winners in his first two crops.

Qadirabad Stud has been built by Mamdot into the leading stud in Pakistan over the last 20 years, with stallion prospects and mares in foal bought through St Lawrence.

The operation has bred nine Derby winners among a plethora of other Classic scorers.
