Andrew Balding will saddle a Lope De Vega half-sister to last season's Classic Trial winner Berlin Tango in the mile novice stakes at Kempton on Wednesday, when the three-year-old will face a number of well-bred rivals.

Owned and bred by George Strawbridge, Fantalope is the sixth foal out of Sadler's Wells mare Fantasia, a three-time Group/Grade 3 scorer and third in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.

The 15-year-old, who is a close relation to Pink Symphony - a Group 3 winner and the dam of Royal Ascot winner and Great Voltigeur second Highland Chief - has also produced Berlin Tango, winner of the Group 3 Classic Trial at Kempton and third to Russian Emperor in the Hampton Court Stakes at the royal meeting.

The son of Dansili - also third behind subsequent Jersey Stakes hero Molatham in the Flying Scotsman Stakes at two - was subsequently sold to Hong Kong last August and has made three starts for Tony Cruz.

Fantasia, who was also second in the Grade 1 Just A Game Stakes at Belmont, is also the dam of multiple winners in Tasit, a son of Tapit, and Jupiter Light, by Lonhro.

Fantalope is set to face 13 rivals in the 6.20pm contest, including the Charlie Appleby-trained Knight's Town, a son of Dansili and Knocknagree, a half-sister to the late Zoffany and a close relation to Irish Derby runner-up and Futurity Stakes winner Rostropovich.

Roger Varian will be represented by the Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum-owned King Triton, a son of Invincible Spirit and out of an unraced Teofilo half-sister to the mighty Dubawi, Lancashire Oaks winner Emirates Queen and the stakes-winning Princess Nada.
