Txope ran out a convincing winner of the German 1,000 Guineas in Dusseldorf on Sunday to provide Ecurie Griezmann, the operation set up by French World Cup-winning footballer Antoine Griezmann, with a big-race result.

The three-year-old was bred by Haras Voltaire, itself the brainchild of a celebrity in fashion magnate Thierry Gillier, known for his creation of the brand Zadig & Voltaire, and sold to Broadhurst Agency for €310,000 as a yearling from Arqana's Select Yearling Sale in 2020.

A winner on her fourth start at two, the Philippe Decouz-trained filly followed up a sixth place in the Prix d'Aumale with success in the Listed Ursula Rosendahl-Preis in Cologne and then a second in the Prix Miesque behind this season's French 1,000 Guineas winner Mangoustine.

This term Txope was third in the Prix Montenica on the all-weather and fifth to Malavath in the Prix Imprudence before a close second in a Listed event at Longchamp early last month.

She is the second foal out of the Acclamation mare Power Of The Moon, a Listed-placed winner and a half-sister to Zinziberine, a daughter of smart sprinter Zieten who won the Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte and Prix Eclipse for Andre and Elisabeth Fabre.

They are out of the Linamix mare Amenixa, a winning sister to two-time Prix Royal-Oak victor Amilynx and Listed winner Amie De Mix as well as a half-sister to Criterium de Maisons-Laffitte scorer Amiwain.

Haras Voltaire has kept a Siyouni two-year-old sister named Percussion in training with Andre Fabre while she also has a yearling colt by Haras de Bonneval's leading light.

Athletico Madrid striker Griezmann has maintained an interest in racing over the last few years and owned Group 3 winner Tornibush, who is standing at Haras du Hoguenet.
