Half-sister to Harbour Law among entries for Deauville breeze-ups
Catalogue also includes half-brother to last year's star graduate Syphax
A half-sister to the 2016 St Leger winner Harbour Law features among 137 lots catalogued for the Arqana Breeze Up Sale, which takes place in Deauville on May 11-12.
The Cityscape filly is offered by Larissa Kneip of Haras de Saint Arnoult, as part of a five-strong consignment also notable for a filly by American sire Union Rags.
Other highlights in the catalogue, posted online yesterday, include a Dream Ahead colt offered by Glending Stables with four siblings boasting an RPR of 100 or more, headed by the Haydock Sprint Cup winner G Force.
Brown Island Stables return with a Giant's Causeway half-brother to Syphax, who sold for €100,000 at last year's sale. The Arch colt, trained by Kevin Ryan, won the Group 3 Acomb Stakes at York on his second start and will run in the Godolphin silks when next seen. His Classic entries include the Qipco 2,000 Guineas.
Previous graduates of the sale, which relocated to Deauville last year, also include The Grey Gatsby, winner of both the Prix du Jockey Club and Irish Champion Stakes, and French Group 1 scorer Robin Of Navan.
"We saw some very good juveniles on our inspection tours and are thrilled with the selection that we will offer to our buyers," Freddy Powell, head of bloodstock at Arqana, said. "We are particularly happy to welcome some new vendors, a sign of the sale’s momentum and attractiveness. Figures for the Breeze Up Sale have risen tremendously over the past few years, since we amended the date. It has allowed us to cater for more diversified profiles, naturally including two-year-old types but also some less precocious horses who will develop into excellent three-year-olds."
The breezes will take place at Deauville racecourse at 12pm on May 11, with the sale taking place the following day at 2pm.
