Arqana unveils entries for Arc Sale at Saint-Cloud
45 talented form horses feature in the catalogue
Arqana has assembled a catalogue of 45 talented horses in training for its Arc Sale, which takes place on Saturday, October 6, and returns to Saint-Cloud racecourse after two years in Chantilly while the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe had moved there.
Among the three-year-olds on offer are two German-trained charges with a very high standard of form.
Ancient Spirit, a colt by Invincible Spirit out of a well-related Galileo mare, was a four-and-a-half-length winner of the German 2,000 Guineas in May and made all to take the Group 2 Darley-Oettingen Rennen last month. He will be lot 38.
Night Of England, meanwhile, finished second in the German Oaks last month for Hank Grewe. The Lord Of England filly, lot 18 in the catalogue, hails from the family of German Classic winners Next Desert and Next Gina, as well as Hong Kong celebrity Pakistan Star.
There are also some exciting juveniles on offer at the sale, including Prix des Chenes runner-up Insandi (lot 6), Prix du Calvados second Lagrandecatherine (24) and Prix de Fleche winner and Prix Robert Papin second Sexy Metro (14).
Among the classy older horses entered are recent Group 2 Goldene Peitsche runner-up Bakoel Koffie (lot 44) and the Group 3-placed Zalamea (28).
More wildcard entries will be announced in the run-up to the sale.
Grade 1 Shadwell Turf Mile winner Suedois is an example of the quality that can be on offer at the Arqana Arc Sale, as he was sourced there by Nick Bradley and Jason Kelly for €165,000 in 2015.
