Editeur Du Gite spoils weekend for Edwardstone's Tote Ten To Follow fans

It may not have been the weekend that many Tote Ten to Follow players had been hoping for with big names Energumene and Protektorat failing to score and Edwardstone collecting only 1.50 points for his narrow defeat in the Clarence House Chase.

The courageous victor there was of course Editeur Du Gite, who announced himself as a force in the two-mile chase division and racked up 42.60 points for the 0.1 per cent of stables who included him in their lists at the start of the game.

The victory hoisted the Gary Moore-trained nine-year-old from fourth to first in the list of the leading points-scorers on 99.10.

Ahoy Senor got the better of a battle with Sounds Russian in the Cotswold Chase to cheer his fanbase of 4.7 per cent of stables with a haul of 30.10 points.

Also at Cheltenham, Stage Star was impressive in the novices’ handicap chase to notch 15.55 points for 2.8 per cent of owners, while Il Ridoto finally got his head in front for 22.30 points and Hacker Des Places landed the finale to give 0.6 per cent of owners 16.80 points.

At Doncaster, the 2020 Champion Hurdle winner Epatante picked up 22.33 points for 18.9 per cent of stables, and Tommy’s Oscar notched 25.90 points for 1.7 per cent of stables.

On Thursday, Teahupoo sluiced up in the Galmoy Hurdle to gather 22.40 points and move into third on the list of top scorers with 69.90. He figures in only 0.8 per cent of stables.

Also at Gowran Park, the much vaunted Sir Gerhard collected 11.10 points for 13.5 per cent of owners.
