b g Multiplex - Gertrude Webb (Central Park)
Held up in rear, awkward 1st, mistake 4th and soon lost touch, behind when veered sharply right and unseated rider 4 out (An enquiry was held following concerns regarding the poor jumping of the gelding, which jumped very green in the rear of the field until unseating the rider when attempting to run out at the sixth flight of hurdles. Both the rider and trainer's rep explained that the gelding had been schooled extensively at home in preparation for its first run over hurdles and a 989 day lay-off. Trainer's rep added that the gelding had jumped well at home and was surprised at the gelding's performance tonight. he further added that the plan had been to get a lead from the field but by jumping the first hurdle very slowly, gelding had lost contact and, in his opinion, this was the reason why the gelding had jumped so badly. He concluded that the gelding will run again as quickly as possible having been schooled thoroughly at home.) (op 16/1)
