ch m Zebedee - Two Smart (IRE) (Cape Cross)
Raced in last, soon became detached, hung right final circuit, tailed off after 3 out, refused last (An inquiry was held into the running and riding of the mare which raced in last place and detached from the field and appeared to be tenderly handled before refusing at the final hurdle; rider and trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; vet reported that a post-race examination of the mare revealed no abnormalities; rrider stated that the instructions were to drop the mare at the rear of the field and to settle her as she had over-raced in her previous run; she added that she restrained the mare detached from the field to settle her and she felt entering the second circuit the mare became more tractable and she started to squeeze her to make up ground; as she attempted to make up the deficit, the mare progressively hung badly to the right preventing her from riding the mare effectively; trainer confirmed the instructions and stated that she was satisfied that the ride accorded with those instructions; their explanations were noted) (op 100/1 tchd 250/1)
