Youngster well treated if returning to last winter's best

1pt each-way at 14-1 with firms offering five placesWin or lose on his first run of the season today, Ar Mest is an interesting horse for the rest of the season as he has a couple of lines of form that make him look very well handicapped off a mark of 117.

If he hadn't made a mistake at the last at Huntingdon in January he'd probably have beaten Django Django and The Blue Master, and the winner has scored off 121 this season and the runner-up was awarded 122 for finishing second, a nose ahead of Ar Mest.

Ar Mest then went to Lingfield, where he gave the now 122-rated Le Musee (winner next time) a six-length beating on heavy ground.
