A £38,000 yearling purchase last year, Masaru looked a really useful prospect when hacking up by four lengths on debut at Windsor and was very professional in the way he went about his victory. Given a break after that, he was sent off a well-punted favourite in a big-field sales race last time but returned lame after finishing eighth.

Conclusion This is a much easier assignment and he should win despite giving weight away.
