What they say on the Champion Hurdle: 'He's 75-1 which is very generous'

Nicky Henderson, trainer of Epatante, Buveur D'Air, Buzz, Verdana Blue and Marie's Rock
Epatante had a good break and is in really good form. She'll go straight to Cheltenham, that was always the plan. The plan is to go there with Buveur D'Air, he's in excellent form but will have a run before, either at Haydock [New One Unibet Hurdle, Saturday] or in the Contenders Hurdle at Sandown. Buzz will go to the Betfair Hurdle and he'd have to come out and run very well to justify a Champion Hurdle entry. He's going to carry a lot of weight, however if he goes well he's entering that sort of league. Verdana Blue has had a nice break as well. Chances are she'll run but she's going to be entered in the Mares' Hurdle as well so we'll think about whether she might get a bit further. Marie's Rock is another unknown, we were looking to go to Doncaster with her but she's had a wind op so she might go to the Betfair Hurdle.

Evan Williams, trainer of Silver Streak
Everything is geared towards Cheltenham and we'll start his preparation for the Champion Hurdle. He hasn't done much since Christmas, but he's grand and he'll definitely go straight there. We've gone about things a bit differently this season and he's a better horse. He's only an eight-year-old and they can improve.

Anthony Bromley, racing manager to Simon Munir and Isaac Souede, owners of Concertista, James Du Berlais, Sceau Royal and Call Me Lord
I believe Concertista is more likely to run in the Mares' Hurdle as she's more effective at two and a half miles. The Champion Hurdle entry is just a back-up. James Du Berlais is a speculative entry at this stage with his campaign geared to going novice chasing next season. Sceau Royal will trial in either the Game Spirit or the Kingwell and we'll see how he goes there before we make a decision. If it's soft at the festival he probably won't run. Call Me Lord has had a soft-palate operation since his last run and is on his way back and could make the Champion Hurdle or the Stayers' but we'll know more nearer the time.
