Scotchtown has yet to win over fences, but he started life going straight into handicaps off his hurdles mark of 135 and while he nearly ran to it a couple of times he generally struggled.

However, he has steadily dropped down the ratings and he ran a cracker last time when a two-length third to Carole's Destrier and Ballydine in the Mandarin at Newbury.
