Lambourn: James Burn

Verdana Blue (3.25 Ascot, nap)

High-class mare who has plenty to find on figures but seems better than ever over hurdles and will love the quick ground. Cannot be ruled out.

West Country: Tim Mitchell

Singing The Blues (7.35 Bath, nap)

A string of decent efforts on the all-weather this year and if reproducing that back on turf, he should take all the beating.Others to follow
Bath 4.50 Whataguy, 6.00 Bequest, 6.30 Freckles, 7.00 Seafarer.
Brighton 7.55 Holdenhurst.

Racing Post Ratings: Paul Curtis

Hello Bangkok (6.50 Brighton)

Yet to progress from last year's good debut run, but very much the pick of the weights on that effort and returns at a modest level.

Topspeed: Dave Edwards

Dee Ex Bee (3.25 Ascot)

Failed to score last term, but produced several honourable efforts in defeat, including when second in the Derby, and would not be winning out of turn.

Longshot: Rob Sutton

Daschas (5.00 Ascot)

Winner here on good to firm in July and not disgraced when fifth in the September Handicap. Previous winner over this trip and Oisin Murphy is booked to ride.

Ireland: Tony O'Hehir

Paloma Blue (4.55 Punchestown)

Back from a mixed campaign over fences, the Henry de Bromhead-trained seven-year-old makes plenty of appeal on this return to hurdles. He was a smart novice last season, as he proved when he finished fourth in the Supreme at Cheltenham, and he gets the vote to account for his seven rivals.
