Harzand couldn't quite crown the season for Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen but the redoubtable Rosewell House firm nonetheless continues in fine form.

Smullen clocked his third century of winners in the jockeys’ championship aboard Weld’s Making Light at Limerick on Monday, while Weld has amassed prize-money of €2,708,653, which is a domestic record for him, beating his previous 2004 best by over €40,000 with the clock still running.

They head for Navan this afternoon with a number of live contenders, none more so than Vigil in the two-mile maiden (3.05).
