Two bankers kick off Paul Kealy's Tote Placepot perm at Doncaster

Credit: Edward Whitaker

A big-field 2m3½f handicap hurdle (12.55) kicks off the Doncaster card, but Sunset West has the look of a very well-handicapped horse, and, while we're almost certainly going to be looking at three places by the off, I still think he's banker material.

Shishkin will obviously win with a clear round in the next (1.30) and there doesn't seem to be any real point in opposing him given how well he has jumped so far.

I can see a few running below form in the Grade 2 mares' hurdle (2.05), including both Nicky Henderson runners, so it's Miranda and Rayna's World for me.

The River Don (2.40) is wide open but I like the proven stamina of Exploiteur, while Pats Fancy also looked like a proper stayer when a plucky second to Make Good at Cheltenham last time.

He finished one place ahead of Ask A Honey Bee that time yet is a bigger price, which doesn't make much sense.

Cap Du Nord will be hard to stop winning, let alone placing, if he handles the ground in the feature (3.15), but that's not a given with the stable possibly under a cloud, so I'm going with a few at prices.

Boldmere, Musical Slave and the veteran Takingrisks, who will stay better than most if it's really testing, are the suggestions.

The last (3.50) is another hard puzzle, but Agamemmon ran his best-ever chase when third in this last year off 7lb higher, while Financial Outcome does all his best running on deep ground at this time of year.
