Handicappers' nap

Torolight (8.40 Lingfield)

Produced quite a taking effort over course and distance when last seen, his first attempt over twelve furlongs. More to come and he should go close.

Newmarket nap

First In Line (8.10 Lingfield)

John Gosden's chestnut fared well when second on debut at Nottingham in April and has since worked well on the Limekilns.
David Milnes

Eyecatcher

Never Be Enough (6.50 Newcastle)

Keith Dalgleish's charge ran well in defeat at Pontefract last time, especially as she was given a fair bit to do compared to the more prominently-ridden winner. She travelled strongly and should win again on this evidence.

Irish angle

Dapper Power (7.30 Tipperary)

Beaten half a length when second over five furlongs at Down Royal on Friday, this lightly raced five-year-old can go one better here for Eddie Lynam and Wayne Lordan.
Tony O'Hehir

Ace tipster

Lush Life (7.20 Newcastle)

Given a cheeky ride by Jamie Spencer at Sandown last time, finishing fast and late and winning like a horse with plenty in hand. Only 3lb higher and has won two of her three all-weather starts, and this straight track is likely to suit.
Paul Kealy

Speed figures

Algaffaal (7.20 Newcastle)

Produced an improved performance when successful over seven furlongs at the track in April and can add to his tally over this trip.
Dave Edwards

Spotlights nap

Tamreer (6.50 Newcastle)

Winner over 1m2f when with Charlie Hills and has form at this course, his best effort for his current stable was when a clear second behind a subsequent winner at York ten days ago. He has a good chance with a 3lb rise far from excessive.
Steve Boow

Dark horse

City Master (5.40 Lingfield)

Wasn't the best away on handicap debut when last seen but could be on a lenient mark judged on last year's novice form. He could run into the frame at a decent price.
Dave Revers

Must-have stat of the day

Since 2009, Saeed Bin Suroor has had five runners in novice events on the all-weather at Lingfield who had their previous start on turf, and all five won. Quiet Place attempts to make it 6-6 in the 6.10.
