It took 11 attempts across two different trainers under rules for this seven-year-old to break his duck, but he made rapid progress for former handler Anna Brooks after landing that maiden success in a 3m handicap hurdle at Southwell in March and now makes his debut for Stuart Edmunds' stable.

Vinegar Hill was an easy ten-length winner of a 2m4½f handicap hurdle at Southwell in May and made short work of his rivals under a 7lb penalty over the same course and distance eight days later. He was eased heavily to again win by ten lengths, looking well ahead of the handicapper.
