John Moore has come out all guns blazing in an attempt to wrest the trainers' title from arch rival John Size, and Sha Tin's all-weather card could mark a turning point in their battle.

Moore has earned a reputation for recruiting well overseas and Buddies, a son of globetrotting star So You Think, is typical of the quality he can source. The gelding has won two from five and has the potential to improve again in the Class 3 1m½f handicap (3.50).

Zac Purton, who continues in brilliant form, was aboard Buddies for both wins, including a mile success before a 7f handicap victory on the Sha Tin turf.

Purton remains loyal to the three-year-old, whose biggest obstacle is not the step up in grade but a wide draw in stall 14, the extreme outside, with such a short run to the first turn.

Moore and Purton also combine with Touch Of Luck in the Class 4 1m½f handicap (12.45) earlier on the card, and unlike stablemate Buddies, the four-year-old has never raced on dirt.

However he has trialled well on the surface, and is a son of the excellent Hard Spun, who finished in the frame in all three legs of the American Triple Crown in 2007 as well as finishing runner-up to Curlin in that year's Breeders’ Cup Classic.

This is Touch Of Luck's third start for Moore, who picked up the gelding on a transfer from Chris So. Drawn in the inside stall, he should be handy throughout and prove a useful winner for the trainer.

The best advice on an all-weather card at Sha Tin is to stick with dirt specialists and in the Class 2 6f handicap sprint (3.15), and punters are spoilt for choice as there many in that category.

The key may be the way this race is run, and with a hectic early pace expected, the Tony Cruz-trained King Genki, better known as a miler, may be finishing all over the top of them in the closing stages. He could be the value in an intriguing contest.
