Tom Segal believes step up in trip can see useful handicapper improve again

The Whipmaster was a big eyecatcher in a slowly run contest at Lingfield over 1m2f last time and looks sure to step up on that now upped 1m4f for the first time in the William Hill Pick Your Places Racing League R31 Handicap at Newcastle (6.05).

It was clearly hard to make up ground from the rear in that Lingfield race but The Whipmaster stayed on strongly in the final furlong and that race was of a similar standard to this one.
