Tom Collins banks on a Philip Hobbs-trained runner in his Doncaster Placepot

An 18-runner conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle (12.30) isn't the easiest start for Doncaster Placepot punters, especially given there isn't a lot of reliable recent form on show.

Niall Houlihan, one of the most experienced riders in the race, partners ten-race maiden First Assembly, who seemed to improve when upped to 3m last time. The Olly Murphy-trained Friary Land is also included.

Hoi Polloi's defection from the 2m5f maiden hurdle (1.05) should open the door for Royal Pretender, who has shown enough in three runs to suggest he's capable of winning.

Only three runners head to post for the beginners' chase (1.35) and although I was tempted to bank on Ballymoy, it's also worth including Stratagem, who gets a handy weight-for-age allowance.

The second recommended 'banker' for your perm is Truckers Pass, a Philip Hobbs inmate who has bumped into useful sorts on all three outings. He won't be out the frame in leg four (2.05) with a clear round.

The penultimate novice handicap chase (2.40) should whittle down the remaining tickets given its competitive look. Last-time-out scorer Shanty Alley appears a safe play, while the strong-travelling Garrane is hard to overlook with a tongue-tie and visor fitted.

Blinkers could be the catalyst to an improved display from Hawthorn Cottage in the final leg (3.10). She won this race last year in gritty fashion. The improving Kestrel Valley is also chosen to hit the frame.
