Tom Collins analyses the credentials of four favourites in the US

Lindante
9.15 Will Rogers Downs
SP forecast 8-5

An experienced miler from the powerful Karl Broberg barn, Lindante has won two of his last three starts in all-the-way fashion and will look to adopt the same tactics here in similar grade. Reliable sort over this course and distance but wide draw is a hindrance.

Conclusion Plenty of speed in opposition and may struggle to dominate from poor draw.

Bug Zapper
9.45 Will Rogers Downs
SP forecast 8-5

Sharp worker who was well punted on debut in maiden special weight company over 6f at this track early last month. He failed to deliver that day but finished a respectable fourth, before enduring a wide trip over a mile last time. Drops into a maiden claimer.

Conclusion Should win now dropped in grade. Rivals don't look up to much.

Sleepy Turtle
10.54 Fonner Park
SP forecast 5-2

Bred, owned and trained by Troy Bethke, Sleepy Turtle showed very little on his first few starts but has blazed a trail on his last three outings, only to be caught near the line each time. Knocking on the door and will try to make all again.

Conclusion Fancy him to hold on this time.

Zippy Too
11.21 Fonner Park
SP forecast 5-2

Winless in four career starts in maiden special weight company but seems to be improving. Has finished in the frame on her last three starts and holds main market rivals Sweet Cowgirl and Miss Justice on multiple pieces of form. Gets a nice swing in the weights with both, too.

Conclusion Disappointing if she didn't win. Price looks too big.
