Burrows Saint begins his journey to Aintree in the Jim Strang & Sons Kilsheelan Hurdle (2.30) at Clonmel on Thursday, but the leading Grand National fancy has to give weight away to some useful rivals so it looks wise to take him on given it will be his first start for 338 days.

Scarpeta has been off for even longer – 621 days in fact – and he has obviously had problems and must be fragile, but Willie Mullins looks to have found an ideal starting point for him to get his career back on track.
