In one of the best finishes of the season, Theatre Guide edged out Perfect Candidate in the Grade 3 handicap chase at Cheltenham after trading at 90 in running on Betfair. The runner-up was done at 1.11, while third home Bally Longford was matched at 1.08.

Dawnieriver was sent for home a long way out in the mares’ handicap chase at Cheltenham and was backed down to 1.24 (1.01 to place) when clear three out, but she started to tread water at the next and was relegated to fourth on the run-in. Winner Still Believing traded at 42.

Gala Ball was matched at 1.04 in the novice chase at Bangor, but A Hare Breath (21) found a second win after breifly looking beaten and collared him after the last.
