The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday

GOOD THING

Espresso Freddo (7.15 Chelmsford)

Robert Stephens's four-year-old doesn't win too many races (3-24) but he's caught the eye on his last two starts at Beverley and Kempton and is interesting back over the course and distance of his last success. There are plenty of hold-up performers in this field, but his draw in stall one should help him get a nice around the inside before the field spread out entering the straight, leaving him plenty of room against the rail. He's too well handicapped off a mark of 76 to ignore.

EYECATCHER

Mudallel(7.45 Chelmsford)

Following a decent all-weather campaign last summer, I'm not quite sure why Mudallel had two runs on the turf (beat just three horses home) after a promising reappearance at Kempton. Back on the synthetic surfaces after that, Mudallel landed a mile handicap here off a mark of 80, before finishing a narrow second over the same course and distance off 1lb higher. He disappointed in two runs at Kempton after but returned to form at Newcastle last time and is surely capable of winning off a mark of 82 with race conditions playing into his hands.
