The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday

DARK HORSE

Woven(6.30 Chelmsford)

Likely to be overlooked in the market, David Simcock's Woven catches the eye in this competitive 0-100 handicap and hopefully he is ready to roll following a 126-day break since his Meydan campaign. The Dutch Art colt looked a black-type performer when scoring on his second start last year, coming from last to first in a good York novice event, and ran very well on his first start in Dubai when second of 16 off a mark of 83. Everything went wrong for him last time, so put a line through that run, and he should improve for the step up to a mile.

GOOD THING

(3.10 Haydock)

This novice event was won by subsequent Listed winner Darkanna in 2017 and Windsor Castle and Flying Childers winner Soldier's Call last year, so there are big shoes to fill for this year's winner, who will hopefully be Partridge. Richard Hannon's two-year-olds come on leaps and bounds for their debut efforts nowadays and therefore it is worth noting the market support for this daughter of Zoffany on debut at Salisbury, when she finished second. Backed into 11-8 favouritism, Partridge travelled all over her rivals before just being beaten by her inexperience close to home. She showcased plenty of ability and should go close getting weight all round here.
