The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Thursday
GOOD THING
Samphire Coast(4.10 Chelmsford)
Derek Shaw's six-year-old is a Chelmsford course specialist and has won five races here, all over a mile. He drops down to 7f today, which isn't necessarily a plus, but he was a such a big eyecatcher last time out when never getting a clear run that I'm happy to stick with him. Lion Hearted won the race that day but with a clear run Samphire Coast would have come out on top and I can't see the Mick Appleby-trained runner confirming the form, especially given the weight pull. Hopefully he can come with a wet sail to make amends for his unlucky defeat last time.
EYECATCHER
I made this between Simba Samba and What Will Be, and much will depend on the passages they get through the race as both will finish late and fast. The draw – What Will Be in stall 14, Simba Samba in stall one – was what swayed me towards Olly Murphy's runner, who was given plenty to do at Lingfield last time but stayed on well to take third and should appreciate this track. He remains on the same mark of 59 and although the yard form (0-19 in the last two weeks) is concerning, I can't see him being far away at the finish.
