The Punt Daily: Tom Collins with two to follow on Friday

BANKER

Ballykan(4.10 Fakenham)

One of the most solid favourites of the day, Ballykan, who makes his seasonal reappearance following 237 days off the track, can provide another winner for the bang-in-form Nigel Twiston-Davies, who recorded a hat-trick at Carlisle yesterday. The eight-year-old gelding looks quite well handicapped off a mark of 133 – the same rating he ran off to finish second in a Kempton Grade 3 to finish last campaign – and doesn't have a bad record when returning from a break. The trip and ground should suit and providing he handles the track, he should win.

GOOD THING

In Demand(2.45 Redcar)

I backed Charlie Fellowes's three-year-old colt on his first run in a handicap last time at Lingfield thinking he was well treated off a mark of 68 and he was still just too green to do himself justice. That was his first start over 2m and he stayed the trip really well, but didn't put his head down and gallop until the final 100 yards when he picked off a few of the stragglers. I don't think the track really suited either, and Redcar is almost certain to help him out with the longer straight. He definitely has the ability to win a race like this, especially now he's been dropped 2lb, and hopefully the experience of his last run has brought him on.
