BANKER

Limato(3.00 Newmarket)

A five-year-old hasn't won this race since Arabian Gleam came home first under Johnny Murtagh in 2009, but the classy Limato looks likely to buck that trend with conditions in his favour. Despite not being at his best this year, Limato has still run creditably in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee and July Cup this season and was only beaten half a length when dropped into Group 2 company at Goodwood last time out. He stayed the seven furlongs fine that day and despite Massaat boasting the highest rating, Limato is the best horse in the race.

EYECATCHER

Torcello (4.10 Newmarket)

It's wise to follow potential improvers in this contest and Torcello, likely to go off around the 4-1 mark, is exactly that. Despite taking three runs to lose his maiden tag, the son of Born To Sea has improved rapidly since and won a Class 2 handicap at Newmarket last month with minimal fuss. Sent off the 8-11 favourite that day, Oisin Murphy, who maintains the ride, bounced out and never saw another rival. Raised 8lb for that success, he still looks relatively well-in off a mark of 93 and can score for the fourth time in seven starts.
