BANKER

Temeraire (12.10 Lingfield)

This former French-trained filly proved that she has plenty of ability when running away with a 6f maiden at this course last month when making all under James Doyle and can follow up in her first attempt in a handicap off a mark of 76. She travelled like a dream through that race and quickened up in impressive fashion when asked, drawing just under five lengths clear of a 70-rated rival. Consequently her mark looks on the lenient side.

EYECATCHER

Petite Jack(1.10 Lingfield)

All eyes will be on Toast Of New York, who makes his return to the track after 1130 days off, but it's very rare that a horse returning from stallion duties retains the same level of ability and I'm willing to take him on, especially at his very short odds. Consequently I've sided with Petite Jack, an all-weather specialist who is fitted with first-time blinkers. Archie Watson's four-year-old ran well in a Listed race last time out and he will hopefully come with a late flourish to land the prize.

IRISH ANGLE

Guanabara Bay(3.35 Dundalk)

The booking of Pat Smullen on Guanabara Bay is certainly eyecatching, as is the fact the handicapper has decided to drop him 6lb despite only being beaten two lengths last time out. Finishing seventh of 14 on that occasion, he broke well and was only passed as they entered the final furlong. Dropped back in trip today, he will look to make all under Smullen.
