BANKER

Native Fighter(8.15 Kempton)

This 0-80 handicap looks a match race between the unexposed Soghan and recent scorer Native Fighter – who rates a good bet at forecast prices. He boasts a fitness edge over Richard Hughes's four-year-old Soghan (who hasn't run for 104 days) and impressed when quickening up well to scoot clear for a two-length success over this course and distance when last seen. He beat some useful horses on that occasion – including Sussex Ranger – and looked to have plenty more in the locker at the line. Having only had three starts in Britain, he's open to further improvement and a 6lb rise is far from harsh.

EYECATCHER

Madrinho(2.10 Lingfield)

This five-year-old is far from prolific with just one win to his name from 26 starts but he's finished runner-up on no less than five occasions, including in Listed company as a two-year-old, and looks primed to run a big race on just his second start for Tony Carroll. Dropped to a mark of 67 (30lb below his highest rating), Madrinho ran well for a long way for new connections at the start of the month but found himself short of room at a crucial stage which ultimately cost him the race. Nevertheless, he sprinted home to close the gap on the leaders to under a length at the line and looked full of running as they pulled up. He's racing off the same mark today and can add that elusive second victory to his CV.

DARK HORSE

Clement(5.45 Kempton)

I'll admit it, I have a soft spot for Clement. He's not the most talented horse running today but he's all guts and often catches the eye at the end of his races. Now dropped back into Class 6 company, Clement looks an attractive proposition from a mark of 63 and should be available at a double-figure price. The last time he raced off a mark in the low 60s he hacked up by five lengths and, having looked unlucky when a fast-finishing sixth last time out, hopefully he'll make amends by producing a similar effort. He looks a great each-way bet to me.
