BANKER

Sam Spinner(4.20 Aintree)

Wasn't given the best ride when sent off favourite for the Stayers' Hurdle at the Cheltenham festival and, although he was swamped coming into the straight, he stuck on well for fifth. They went such a slow pace that day that the race was set up for speed horses Penhill and Supasundae, and I'm certain Joe Colliver will go off harder here on this proven stayer. He's still unexposed with just ten starts to his name and everything looks in his favour.

EYECATCHER

Ucello Conti(5.15 Aintree, Grand National)

You could do far worse than choose Gordon Elliott's Ucello Conti to win the 2018 running of the Grand National. Undoubtedly primed for this contest, the ten-year-old, who looked unlucky when unseating Daryl Jacob at Bechers last year, loves these fences and is sure to give owners Isaac Souede and Simon Munir a great thrill. He travels strongly through his races, stays all day and looks value at around the 20-1 mark.

GOOD THING

On The Blind Side (2.25 Aintree)

Having bypassed the Cheltenham festival, Nicky Henderson's On The Blind Side comes into this Grade 1 hurdle as a fresh horse and looks to maintain his unbeaten record of four wins from four races. He impressed when staying on stoutly to beat the reopposing Momella at Cheltenham in November, before clearing away from inferior rivals at Sandown when last seen in December. He goes well fresh – so that isn't a worry – and, although Black Op brings the best form into the contest with a second-place finish to Samcro, he will be paying the price for that run.
