Paul Midgley does incredibly well with his sprinters and this six-year-old, who has won three times for the trainer since moving to his yard at the start of last year, is now handicapped to win. His two runs in Meydan in January when fourth would see him win this doing handstands and although he hasn't got closer than seventh in four starts back in Britain, he was a serious eyecatcher when last seen at York. Held up in the early stages, Orvar, who was sent off at 66-1, flew home in the final furlong to pass several rivals in a much deeper contest than this. He's been dropped 1lb for that run and is now 5lb lower than when last successful.
