The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Thursday afternoon
BANKER
The Bosses Oscar (2.45 Thurles)
Talented former pointer who won his bumper well on debut for Gordon Elliott before pushing the extremely talented Blue Sari, who finished second in last year's Champion Bumper at Cheltenham, to half a length on hurdling debut. Regular rider Davy Russell was apparently 'mad' about him after that day and it wasn't a shock he made amends next time when winning a big-field Leopardstown maiden hurdle by four lengths. Seems to be improving at a rate of knots and this looks like a prep run for a crack at something like the Martin Pipe at Cheltenham.
EYECATCHER
Smart handicapper who has won three times at this track and is 7-18 on the all-weather. She went close in a couple of Listed events last summer before losing her way, meaning she is back down to a mark of 91, 1lb lower than when winning here in June 2018. Rock On Baileys re-found her form recently, though, winning a conditions event at Lingfield in December before finishing a clear second to Invitational in a fast-track qualifier last time. She now returns to her favourite venue off a workable mark and has a plot draw in stall one.
