The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Sunday afternoon
BANKER
A small but select field of four line up for this year's edition of the Listed Cocked Hat Stakes and it is easy to give a chance to each of the runners. However, race fitness is crucial in a race like this and that factor gives the edge to John Gosden's Celestran, who built on his all-weather success at Wolverhampton in November when coming from near last to first to win last week at Yarmouth. An 11-day break will have freshened him up for this prize and the extra furlong will suit.
EYECATCHER
Open Wide (2.20 Goodwood)
Amanda Perrett's sprinter faces a number of younger rivals and is quite exposed after 34 starts, but he is a proven course specialist at Goodwood and will have come on bundles for his reappearance effort at Newmarket. He is back to a mark of 96, which is 1lb higher than when he finished second in last year's Stewards' Cup, and gets on well with Pat Dobbs. The likes of Corinthia Knight and Bungee Jump will make sure this race is run at a decent gallop and Open Wide may prove the strongest in the final furlong.
