The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tips on Friday afternoon
GOOD THING
David Menuisier is following the exact same path with Blue Cup as he did with subsequent Group 1 runner-up Thundering Blue by running in this race after the City and Suburban Handicap at Epsom. Blue Cup finished a luckless fifth that day and arguably would have won if he was granted a clear run. Off a workable mark of 93, I expect him to bounce back to Sandown form last season, which will make him tough to beat under William Buick.
EACH-WAY PLAY
William Haggas has already struck in a competitive handicap here this week and can double his tally courtesy of Tom Collins, who showed a decent level of form for former trainer David Elsworth. The stable switch is sure to bring about further improvement in this four-year-old and you can put a line through his reappearance effort when unfavoured by the way the race developed at Thirsk. This is a much easier assignment and he can hit the frame at a decent price.
