The Punt Daily: Tom Collins' free horse racing tip on Wednesday afternoon
BANKER
He is probably not going to be any bigger than around 2-1 despite forecast prices of 7-2, but Nigel Tinkler's Archie Perkins deserves to hold the vast share of the market for this 1m2f handicap. The four-year-old gelding has been in fine form throughout the last two seasons, running consistently in this and lower grades off lower marks. He's tallied five wins in the last year from ten starts (never worse than fourth), including three times at this course, and now runs off a career-high rating of 83. Despite the fact he has more on his plate, he looks to hold serious claims of winning again given the way he fended off a subsequent winner at York last time in a better race than this. Furzig has since taken a competitive Newcastle handicap (runner-up in that race also won since) and Archie Perkins, who is well berthed in stall two, can reward punters once again.
